Dear Gainesville campus,
Thank you for your patience as the university and its utility partners continue to work to resolve issues affecting indoor temperatures on campus.
As of Monday evening, significant progress has been made in the effort to restore normal service, and crews will continue to work tonight toward this goal. As the relevant systems begin to come back online overnight and into Tuesday, indoor temperatures should begin to return to normal. We do not anticipate issuing another update unless warranted by changed circumstances or new events.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank UF’s Facilities Services and its team members for their tireless efforts and dedication to return campus to normal operation following this unprecedented weather event and utility outage.
Decisions regarding class delivery on Tuesday remain at the instructor’s discretion, and faculty may determine whether to proceed with in-person instruction, transition a class to a remote format (such as Zoom), or cancel class as appropriate based on conditions in their assigned space and the nature of the course. Faculty are encouraged to communicate directly with their students regarding any changes to class delivery.
Thank you again for your understanding during this period of challenging weather. As always, if you need immediate assistance for any facility-related issue, please contact UF’s Work Management Center at (352) 392-1121 or workorder@admin.ufl.edu where Facilities Services is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide assistance.
